Palate: Chenin in its purest form! From 30-year-old vines harvested at perfection, this wine was wild fermented and bottled just before dry to create the fine spritz that it is synonymous with Pet Nat. Preservative-free and full of Nashi pears and mandarins, it is crisp and refreshing with a cleansing, dry finish. To be served chilled.
Winemaker’s Note: Short for Pétillant Naturel and translating from French as “naturally sparkling”, Pet Nat is one of the oldest styles of sparkling wine in the world. Unlike traditional sparkling wines, which undergo a second fermentation in bottle, Pet Nat is bottled while the primary fermentation is still underway, allowing nature to create the bubbles.
Vinification: Made with minimal intervention, our Pet Nat is crafted from estate-grown Chenin Blanc. The wine is fermented naturally and bottled before fermentation is complete, then sealed with a crown cap to capture the carbon dioxide produced by the remaining yeast activity. Nothing is added and nothing is removed — no fining, no filtration and no added sulphites — resulting in a wine that is vibrant, expressive and true to its origins.
Vintage 2026: 10/10 A perfect vintage for Chenin Blanc. A wet winter followed by a dry moderate spring and summer created the perfect conditions for Chenin to develop flavour, retain acidity and build sugars. The fruit was pristine for harvest.
